Additionally, the research found that exercising triggers the release of the hormones serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline, and these hormones are well-known to help improve the moods of individuals and also used in well-known antidepressants.
This increase in hormones can be observed very well in a condition known as the runners’ height. This feeling after acute training is directly related to the increase in the amount of this hormone. However, there are still no firm research results that show that improving mood can be possible in a longer period of time.
Another area is the physiological aspect. Nearly all the feelings people associate with mental well-being are based on an individual’s personal appreciation for their body’s feelings. For instance, suppose that if an individual experiences abdominal pains as a form of stress, they will feel stressed and even sometimes very depressed, every time their stomach hurts. Movement can also cause feelings like muscle relaxation and easier breathing, which people associate with feeling better. Although this correlation still has a better scientific basis, individuals still cannot deny that muscle tension and increased blood flow go hand in hand with physical fitness.
Nobody knows exactly how exercise affects mental health. But, it is common for patients to see exercise as a good environment to improve their mood. According to research studies, nearly 60 percent of all individuals who say they exercise to relieve symptoms of stress and depression believe that their exercising really works for them. The scientific people still do not know or understand how this happens, but for now, it remains true that a lot of people will benefit from better mental health by exercising.
