2. Lapse And Relapse – The truth is that quitting and staying off of drugs can be hard and you could eventually experience a setback or two. In case you don’t know, a lapse is when you have quit using drugs, but then decide to use the drug again (the first time after quitting), while a relapse is not being able to remain drug-free over a period of time, and this usually occurs a few months after you have stopped doing drugs, but it is important to note that having a few setbacks is quite common, so you could very well experience a relapse or lapse. If you do experience one of these, then it doesn’t mean your treatment was a disaster and it failed, as it really means that you might need to receive more treatment, or you might need to spend more time with a support group.
3. A Healthy Lifestyle – When you are in the recovery phase, then you need to live a healthy lifestyle, and one of the best ways to do this is by being active and exercising, which can help you reduce stress, get you in better shape and just feel a lot better about yourself. Asides from doing that, you should try to do other things that can reduce stress, and make sure you get plenty of sleep because if you don’t, then you might end up being moody and tired all the time. Eating a balanced diet is also something you will want to do, so make sure to get plenty of whole grains, veggies, fruits and protein. It is a good idea to meditate too, because this can help you become calmer and your mind could end up being cleared of negative thoughts.
