The sober coach is a person who helps individuals follow the steps that will help them stay sober after recovering from alcoholism or drug addiction. The coach offers the support and motivation that people often need when they want to avoid the temptation of relapsing.
When a person first stops drinking or doing drugs and finally becomes sober, things are much different for them. They may suddenly start to feel like they are getting a fresh start at life.
However, that fresh start may be intimidating to some. After being addicted to a substance for so long, a person may experience feelings of anxiousness and worry about what will happen for them in the future, but that is just one of many reasons that the sober coach is there to help. The coach wants to prepare people for the real world by helping them gain the skills that they will need to have if they want to prosper in life.

When someone starts to feel a whole lot more confident about themselves and their personal choices, they can have more success than someone who feels unsure and worried most of the time.
The sober coach is willing to assist individuals of all ages, including teenagers and adults who would like to overcome their addiction for good and never look back. Regardless of their current situation, whether they have relapsed in the past few weeks, just received treatment or are living a sober life already, the coach will be there to help and support them.
In most instances, a sober coach will visit with an individual several times each week. The amount of time that is spent during each of the meetings will depend on several factors, including the condition of the individual who has recently stopped drinking alcohol or using drugs. The meetings may be held in different places, such as the home of the individual, local restaurant or even a beautiful park in the area.
Aside from the beneficial meetings, individuals who have concerns and need immediate assistance may call the sober coach anywhere between the hours of 9 AM and 9 PM. The coach will be there to help during unexpected emergencies.
It is important to remember that a sober coach does not provide treatment or therapy. The sober coach is not a life coach or an assistant who handles all kinds of tasks. Instead, the main goal of this coach is to be there to offer support and help individuals improve their life skills.
